How to plant and defuse in BloxStrike
Updated 2026-10-16
Carry the bomb to a marked site when attacking; reach the planted bomb when defending. A recorded BloxStrike Keybinds menu shows Explosives & Traps on 5, Fire on MouseButton1, and Use on E. Check those action labels in your own settings because bindings can change. Objective footage below shows the plant and defuse states, without borrowing another game’s timers.
Show the instructions and check your bindings
Destructoid’s April settings guide documents N for the in-round settings menu, a Keybinds tab, and the Game setting Enable Game Instructor Messages. Open settings, inspect Keybinds, and enable instructor messages if you need the client’s guidance. The official Nebula video also visibly shows the settings gear and Keybinds tab at 2:14.
JustBOZ’s 26 April 2026 controls recording provides a readable keyboard mapping: Explosives & Traps = Five, Fire = MouseButton1, and Use = E. It also shows Main Menu = N. These are observed assignments, not a promise of today’s untouched defaults. Open gear → Keybinds and compare the action names before using a shortcut.
| Explosives & Traps | 5 | A real explosives selection binding; you still need to carry the objective. |
| Fire | MouseButton1 | The recorded primary-action binding, not an independent plant timing test. |
| Use | E | The recorded interaction binding; follow the objective prompt for its required input. |
| Main Menu | N | A route back to the menu and settings in that recording. |
Planting: check the objective before the interaction
Roblox explicitly describes a plant-or-defuse objective. Use this checklist in the live match: confirm your side has the planting objective, check who carries it, move to a site indicated by the client, and read the prompt there. A map label alone does not establish that you are in planting range.
Select the objective with your Explosives & Traps binding (5 in the recorded menu), confirm the bomb is actually in hand, and follow the site’s displayed action. Keep the requested input until the plant completes; do not switch away just because an animation started. The linked 13 December 2025 player clip shows the B-site plant sequence around 0:08–0:12. It is a historical gameplay example, not a keyboard-overlay test or proof of current controller mappings.

Defusing: reach the objective and confirm completion
Locate the planted objective using the client markers and team information, approach until an interaction is offered, then use the interaction binding shown in your settings (Use = E in the controls recording). Keep the prompt’s required input and watch for completion. If no interaction appears, check the round state, your role, and your position before assuming a bug.
TheVRCompass’s 23 January 2026 guide shows an active defuse around 5:28–5:30: the camera faces the planted device and the progress notice explicitly says the player is defusing with a kit. This confirms a kit-labelled defuse in that historical client. It does not establish a present-day purchase price, unlock condition, or seconds saved.
- Keyboard, controller, and touch controls can differ; read the on-screen instruction.
- A teammate covering an approach can let the interacting player concentrate on the objective.
- Do not assume progress survives a release, interruption, or death; check the resulting client state.

Avoid importing Counter-Strike timers
No measured fuse length, defuse duration, cancellation/reset rule, or kit time bonus is supplied here. Do not plan a last-second interaction using another game’s numbers. A recorded action binding and a separate gameplay example are not a same-version, input-overlay experiment. If an input fails, compare your bindings and the exact objective prompt first.
FAQ
How long does the defuse take?
Not published in the sources used here. Read the in-game bar.
Is there a defuse kit?
A January 2026 gameplay recording explicitly displays a defuse “with a kit.” Current purchase conditions, price, and time bonus were not verified; do not substitute CS2 values.
Which side plants?
The attacking side plants and the defending side defuses. The official line does not rename the sides beyond that objective.
